Jim O’Brien - CSM Mechanic 

Jim O'Brien is a UCI/USAC licensed /Professional Team Race Mechanic. He has 26 years experience in Professional bicycle race support at the highest levels.  He is world famous in cycling circles among the Pro's and is capable of personally providing all necessary technical support for a full squad of team riders during single or multi-day events. He also is a wizard with bikes and a well known educator of junior mechanics. Jim is also instrumental with inventory control and budgeting of team infrastructure. He has served as team liaison with component sponsors to provide constructive feedback on improvements to their products. Jim also represents sponsor's products in the most favorable context when dealing with media by providing testimonials and hands on demonstrations. His list of team affiliations and accomplishements is extensive and includes:

  • WEBCOR BUILDERS. (UCI Div. III) 2003-2005; all North American UCI/NRC races

  • Defeet/Lemond. (UCI Div. III) Head mechanic for 2001 Tour of Quintana Roo; 7 day Mexican stage race. 2000 Masters World Championships.
  • Team Shaklee. (UCI Div. III) Head mechanic 1990-2000.  Tour Dupont 1995. Worked every major US race during time period.  Also women’s team mechanic 1989-1992.
